Day 6

Foolish Trader Journal, Day 6

Week 2 of my experiment started today.

META and MSFT earnings are going to be a big reason for where this week takes me.

There was a whole lot of news about DeepSeek and it impacted a lot of technology stocks today. Luckily, I didn't quite have any trades get too adversely affected.

Portfolio Overview

Today's Trades

  • Closed MSFT Call Credit Spread
    • A sharp drop in MSFT at the start of the day took the trade to ~80% of premium received. I instantly decided to close and executed the closing trade at ~77% of premium received. A thrilling start - this all happened within first 3 minutes of option market open.
    • Net: Received ~7.7% ($154) on the risked capital ($2000) within 4 days.
    • Entry log:
      • $470 / $480 Call Credit Spread
        • Entered when stock was at $444
        • Betting against continued rapid price increase
        • Received $200 premium
        • Potential strategy: Close at 50% premium if opportunity arises
