Foolish Trader Journal, Day 43.
Market Recap
The market moved down today.
- SPY went down by ~.48%.
- QQQ went down by ~.29%.
Trading Update
tl;dr No trades today.
Yesterday, I said the following:
I will likely open another Put Credit Spread, and sell a Cash Secured Put.
I attempted to sell a Cash Secured Put on SOFI but couldn’t find a good entry when I was looking. If you've been following me for a while, you know that I have a day job, so my trading happens either before work or during my lunch break. It’s not like I sit around all day waiting for the perfect entry—I usually have about ten minutes to scan for opportunities.
I also looked to open a Put Credit Spread (PCS), but most of the stocks on my watchlist were trending green at the time. Since I prefer opening PCS positions when stocks are red (to squeeze a little extra premium), I didn’t enter a trade.
I did try to manage my AMZN PCS when it briefly hit over 40% of the premium I collected—an effective 8% return in just two days. However, my order never got filled and was canceled at the end of the day. I wasn’t willing to close the position for less than a 40% gain, so I didn’t adjust my price to push the trade through.
Portfolio Status

Here are the open positions.
