Day 21 - And We Wait

Foolish Trader Journal, Day 21

Trading Update

I closed 2 NVDA spreads one after another when the premium received hit my sell threshold. I typically want to exit when the value of the spread reaches 50% of the original premium, as I mentioned in my Thesis before I began the Foolish Trader experiment.

I placed an order to exit the remaining 3 NVDA spreads too, but the market moved down so they remain open.

I used the liquidated cash to sell 2 META $675 / $670 spreads since I noticed META fell down for the first time in nearly 3 weeks. The RSI was hovering between 30 and 40. I sold the ~14 ∆ Put.

Yet again, the LEAPS trended downwards. The overall portfolio went up a bit today. I am beginning to lose my patience with the LEAPS, especially because the Spreads have been really kind to me so far.

Here is a Year to date view of the portfolio.

I now have nearly $4500 in Cash. I will look to find some new trades tomorrow. It seems really tempting to put more capital in Spreads, but I am really wary of one bad trade in a big position wiping out the entire YTD profits. But what if they were multiple small uncorrelated positions? Maybe something will show up soon. Until then - I wait!
